Annwyn - Summary

 

It is based on international standards, best practice and enterprise-class open source frameworks, wherever possible, and designed around XML and Web Services to guarantee interoperability with various systems and platforms and to make functional building blocks accessible over standard Internet protocols that are independent from platforms and programming languages. The communication between the different components of the system is based on XML messages, using SOAP under HTTP(S) protocol to transfer information across the system.

Annwyn is a truly modular, highly configurable, service-oriented framework within the Annwyn Application Server used to deliberate Avalon Biometrics solutions from specific platforms and providing them with the necessary enterprise-class robustness & reliability needed for the most demanding system. It follows the concepts of a Multi-Tier Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). It unifies business processes by structuring & orchestrating large applications as an ad hoc collection of smaller modules called services.

Annwyn connects distributed / front-end / smart, web & mobile clients used for: Live or Form-based Enrolment with biometric capture & Quality Assurance, Border Management, Verification, Identification & Duplicate search tasks, Visa Application Management, etc. in a hierarchical way with the local, regional & centralized servers with complete inherited n-tier data replication & synchronization mechanisms including disaster recovery, failover and redundancy support.

The back-end system has all the business logic and service & workflow management built-in as well as all middleware products to support a high demanding enterprise system.
